ABOUT THE CHASSIS:
Hot Rod, Rat Rod or Street Rod Chassis.
Our frames are light weight but super strong. All tube joints are MIG & TIG welded, ground smooth and plated on both sides with 1/4", steel, fish plates. Front and rear cross-tubes are gusseted.
BASIC FRAME:
Frames are set up for a small block Chevy and a Turbo 350 transmission. With custom mounts and a few minor adjustments,frame can accommodate a variety of motor/trans combinations.
MATERIAL:
2" x 4" x .125" Grade A-500 rectangular tube, 3" x .250" front cross-tube.
length 123", width at front 25", width at rear 35", 15" kick up at rear
44.5" between the front and rear kick-up.
*Frame is designed for the firewall of cab to sit atop of front kick-up stopping at the bottom of rear kick-up with approx. 49" between those two points.
APPLICATIONS:
Works best with early cabs 27'-31'. Most cabs 49" or less can be channeled to fit the frame.
HIGHLIGHTS:
Fish plates are plasma cut from 1/4" mild steel. 4 link mounts, transmission mount, radius rod mounts, front perch and engine mounts included. Chassis comes Powder Coated "VAMPIRE CHASSIS BLACK" (custom colors available.) Mounting tabs and mounts are NOT drilled, engine mounts are welded onto the frame. Parts of the Frame are Mig Welded and TIG Welded.
Frame is sand blasted then coated with a lustrous (black) textured finish. Wrinkle Black Spray can be purchased at most parts houses for touch-ups required after adding motor mounts.
SHIPPING:
We can accommodate for freight or customer pick-up. For shipping quote, send your zip code. Frame is attached to one pallet and weighs between 200 to 300 pounds. Average shipping ranges from $150 to $250.
* Construction of your chassis will not begin until payment has cleared and shipping or pickup is arranged. Frames require 2-4 weeks to complete.
